सारAbstract
This study analyzes the impacts of climate change on traditional agricultural systems in the hilly regions of Nepal. Based on meteorological data from the past two decades and surveys conducted with local farmers, the research highlights how rising temperatures and erratic rainfall patterns have led to a decline in indigenous crop yields. The findings suggest that while farmers are adopting informal adaptation strategies, formal scientific and policy support is urgently needed to ensure food security.

1. Introduction
Nepal remains predominantly an agrarian society where a significant portion of the population relies on traditional farming. In recent years, climate change has emerged as a major threat to this climate-sensitive sector.
2. Methodology
A mixed-methods approach was used, incorporating a survey of 100 households in the mid-hills of Nepal and meteorological data spanning from 2005 to 2025.
3. Key Findings
-
Shift in Weather Patterns: There is a noticeable delay in the monsoon onset combined with high-intensity rainfall events.
-
Crop Yield Decline: Traditional crops like local rice and maize varieties have seen a yield reduction of up to 15%.
